PORTUGAL

Portugal with my wife — Porto, Lisbon, Cascais, and the Atlantic never far away.

What stayed with me was the ocean air. Incredible seafood on the table. Amazing espresso. Hills falling into narrow streets, faded façades, flags from balconies, and restaurants alive late into the night.

Porto was our favorite. Romantic without trying to be — the river, the bridges, old buildings climbing the hills, and the Atlantic air. Beyond the familiar streets, the city felt lived in and deeply connected to its past.

Lisbon had a different rhythm. Loud and crowded below, more intimate in the hills. At night, certain streets unexpectedly reminded me of Argentina — nostalgic, worn, and alive.

Cascais felt cinematic. Rocky coves, old villas, intense summer light, and the cool Atlantic cutting through the heat. Elegant and relaxed, almost like the setting of an old fashion campaign.

Portugal reminded me of Greece and Italy — not because they are the same, but because identity still lives in everyday life.

And everywhere, the ocean.

On this side of Europe, the Atlantic takes the starring role.
