A cinematic visual archive shaped by island life, memory, hospitality, and the enduring sounds and images of the Aegean Sea.

Rooted in the Cyclades and centered around Meltemi—the island's first taverna, established in 1978 and pioneering tourism in many ways—the series reflects generations shaped by gathering, sea winds, late-summer light, family histories, and the ritual of sharing food by the water.

Photographed between ferry crossings, quiet and busy harbors, salt-worn architecture, fading afternoons, and moments suspended between departure and return, AEGEAN explores both the personal and emotional geography of the islands. It is a landscape shaped by memory, by families connected across seas and cities, and by the enduring relationship between home and movement.

Raised between the Aegean, Athens, and New York, Panagioti Venetsano approaches the Mediterranean through the perspective of a restaurateur and visual storyteller shaped by contemporary culture, hospitality, and heritage carried across generations.
